Reading text using the Speech menu
You can use the Speech menu options to read text aloud. If you cannot see this menu, click here.
The main Speech menu options that allow you to read text aloud, are as follows:
Start Speech (Control +
+ S)
- select this option and then hover your mouse over an area of text on the
web page to hear the text being read aloud. You can hover your mouse over
sentences, captions, images and so on. An image name will only be read aloud
if the person who created the website has included a name-
Previous Section (Control +
+ P) - select this option to speak the previous
section of text
aloud -
Next Section (Control +
+ N) - select this option to speak the next
section of text aloud -
Stop Speech (Control +
+ S) - select this option to stop the system from
reading the text aloud.
