You need an internet connection to download and install BrowseAloud:

Remove BrowseAloud 5 and 6
To remove BrowseAloud 5 and 6 from your computer:
BrowseAloud is a virtualised application which does not require any program files to be installed on your computer. It can be removed from your computer as below:
- Ensure BrowseAloud has been closed. BrowseAloud can be closed by right clicking on the BrowseAloud icon in your system tray and clicking on 'Exit BrowseAloud'
- Locate the BrowseAloud file that you downloaded and saved on your computer. If you cannot locate this, search for a file called BrowseAloud.exe on your computer using the search facility from the Start menu.
- Delete this file from your computer.
To remove BrowseAloud 4 or below from your computer:
- Click start at the bottom-left corner of your screen
- Choose 'Control Panel'
- Choose 'Add/Remove Programs'
- Choose 'textHELP BrowseAloud version 4' (or whatever version you want to uninstall)
- Click 'Change/Remove'
Windows
You need Windows 7, Vista or XP in order to run BrowseAloud on your computer
To find out what version of windows your computer has:
- 1. Press the Ctrl, Alt and Delete buttons at the same time
- This will bring up a window that will tell you what version of Windows you are using
- Click Cancel to exit the window
Download & Run BrowseAloud 6
Make sure your computer is running Windows 7, Vista or XP.
- Go to our downloads page and click on the download BrowseAloud
button.

When the download screen appears as below please choose Save (save the file locally on your PC) and
not Run

After BrowseAloud has downloaded, close the download complete dialogue and double click the BrowseAloud.exe. The following message may appear, please uncheck “Always ask before opening this file” to prevent this message from appearing in the future and then click run.

- The first screen
you will be presented with is the License Agreement. You need to choose the
"I accept the license agreement" radio button then click Next.:

- A ReadMe dialogue contains some accessibility information. Click Next.

- You will then be presented with the final dialogue screen explaining the BrowseAloud Icons as
shown below:

Mac - Download & Run
You can install BrowseAloud directly from the BrowseAloud website. You must have an Internet connection and any previous versions of BrowseAloud uninstalled before you can proceed with the installation.
Before you install BrowseAloud, make sure your Apple Mac has the following:
- Operating System X 10.3.9 or later
- 256 Mb RAM (512 Mb is preferable)
- compatibility with Power PC or Intel processor.
- Sound card and Speakers
- 20 MB Free Disc Space
- Supported Browser - Safari Browser
BrowseAloud Mac Installation steps:
1. Click on the "Mac Download" link, BrowseAloudMAC.zip will start
downloading.
2. Once downloaded double click to open the zip file.
3. Drag the BrowseAloud application into your applications folder.
4. Double click to run BrowseAloud.
Mac - Uninstalling
Drag and drop the BrowseAloud Mac 1.2.8 application folder to the trashcan and empty it.
Determine your version of Macintosh OS
- Click on the blue apple at the top left of your screen

- Choose "About this Mac"
