BrowseAloud offers new Firefox support
Download the latest version of BrowseAloud for compatibility with Firefox 5, 6 and 7. (Firefox 7 is recommended).
The latest version of BrowseAloud will automatically update and work alongside future versions of Firefox, where possible. This means that you are no longer required to re-install BrowseAloud every time a new version of Firefox is released.
You can also now use BrowseAloud and Firefox 7 without needing administrator privileges at any point.*
Downloading and running the latest version of BrowseAloud:
1) If BrowseAloud is currently running, close it by right-clicking on the BrowseAloud icon in the system tray and clicking 'Exit BrowseAloud'.
2) Download and run the latest version of BrowseAloud from the BrowseAloud Downloads page
3) When the following Software Installation window appears, select 'Install Now':
4) You will then be prompted to restart Firefox to complete the installation:
Once Firefox has restarted, you can check that the extension has installed by looking in the add-ons manager, and checking for the "TexthelpHightlighter" entry.
*Note: If you use a Firewall you will need to allow "BAloud4.exe" access through your Firewall. This is to allow BrowseAloud to communicate with Firefox. If you see a dialog box similar to the below, choose 'Unblock', 'Allow Access' or equivalent. If you do not administer your Firewall please contact your network administrator.
